It’s Not Just Me Anymore
We’ve set the date.
We booked a photo studio in Yonkers. We’re ordering clothes. We’re gathering props from around my home. We’re buying a ludicrous amount of citrus fruits (I’ll explain that another time)…
Our marketing firm rebrand is no longer a bunch of ideas in our heads. It’s a series of scheduled events and project timelines.
Photo shoot, video capture, logo design, website design.

I’m always telling our artist and creative clients:
Share the process. Let your audience into your creative journey.
Show the rough drafts and the things that aren’t quite ready yet. Even if it changes, even when you KNOW it’ll evolve.
Those behind-the-scenes moments and insights will inspire investment in YOU and your unique way of doing things. They’ll also spark excitement about the final “product,” whatever that is…
I want to practice what I preach, so I’m planning to share a bit more about our rebrand before it actually becomes real. Now through May.

Some backstory:
These posts come from me, Amy, 👋 but our marketing planning now comes from a full team of talented, smart people: me + Paige, Jessica, Hannah, Xenia.
We all happen to have a dance background, and we are all creative in our own right.
But I don’t often lean into this creative, artsy side in the way I present our work and our methods. I have always placed high value on expertise and effectiveness. That sh!t’s important, but so is:
- our empathy for the discomfort in promoting yourself & your craft
- our collaborative spirit that leans into partnership vs. pushiness
- our commitment to mission/purpose/passion-driven work
- our dedication to the people on the other side of your screen (your actual audience)
- our ability to have fun, take risks, improvise, find the poetry and art in it all
It’s high time our company’s identity & design reflects these aspects of our work (and downgrades my name, when I’m not the center of every project anymore.)

I love our current version of Amy Jacobus Marketing. I love the approachability and the brightness. I love the lightbulb, which my brother-in-law drew for us.
But we’ve outgrown it. We’re just MORE now.
More sophisticated.
More experienced.
More opinionated.
More talented.
More accomplished.
More committed.
More creative.
More ambitious.
I can’t wait to share some sneak peeks into this new, grownup version of the business with you in the coming months.
