Juggling Multiple Audiences

A Live Conversation on addressing all of the listeners in your community

When you’re marketing to multiple categories of client, how can you  tailor your communications?

My most recent business chat with friends was about how we can juggle multiple audiences in our businesses…

When your business or creative endeavor seeks to speak to different types of ideal client, how do you manage your messaging so it makes sense for everyone you’re trying to speak to? How does that have an impact on planning your marketing in advance?

And no, speaking to different groups does not necessarily mean you have to double the amount of messaging or content you create!

More on Guramrit, Katie, and our candid conversation

Even though Mercury was in Retrograde, and we had trouble getting everyone on screen, I was still able to get some great info from two brilliant colleagues about how they’ve navigated this issue in their businesses during our Instagram Live.

Guramrit LeBron (Director of Communications & Marketing of Manhattan Birth and Co-Founder of The Bridge Directory) spoke about how her companies have services and resources for birth work professionals AND families… And these groups have very different needs.

Segmentation and personalization of messaging may take some initial backend setup, but once you’ve done it, you’ve set yourself up for success in funneling folks to the right information on your website, in your emails, and even on social media.

Katie Singh, Chief Growth & Strategy Officer of Tide Risers, is always straddling two objectives in her role: how to recruit new members and how to engage current Tide Risers and alum.

She’s getting clearer on how to craft differentiated messages for either group, and use the data in the business to focus on and prioritize what’s most important when there isn’t time to do it all.

Helpful Hint: At about 22 minutes, we start talking about what to do when the best possible experience for every audience starts to look overwhelming or impossible to execute!

I wanna know: how do YOU tackle this idea in your communications? Don’t hesitate to reach out!
