Creating a Professional Online Presence for Lori Manca

Challenge

Lori Manca is President & Principal Consultant for LM Compliance Services, LLC. When she came to us, she had no real web presence to speak of. She was using her LinkedIn profile as a home base for her services and her personal Gmail for all professional communications.

Lori was also aware that she was leveraging hours for dollars. She had a desire to scale her business in a more sustainable way by selling DIY templates and product packages in addition to providing one-on-one consultation and implementation.

Lori enjoys teaching and training and is well-equipped to provide excellent products and compliance policies to more companies; she just needed to market these offers more intentionally. We set the online marketing groundwork for Lori’s company by designing a brand identity and creating a simple, professional website.

Our Process

Step 1:

Zeroing In on Lori’s Ideal Clients

As a compliance expert, Lori’s ideal clients are smaller to medium-sized companies whose in-house legal counsel is stretched thin or not necessarily versed in compliance law. Her clients work in highly professional, corporate environments, with busy schedules and rigid budgets.

Step 2:

Content/Copy

Lori’s ideal clients are highly educated people. They are comfortable with legal jargon and language, and there are certain key terms they would want to see when researching a potential hire. At the same time, we needed to communicate Lori’s personal style and approach — which is warm, calming and gracious. Those qualities foster loyalty in her current clients and spark the word-of-mouth referrals that have grown her business to this point.

Step 3:

Brand Design

Similarly to Lori’s copy and content, her brand needed to balance Lori’s personal style and approach with the expectations of her target audience — and also make her stand out from the sea of steely grays and glassy corporate structures offered by her competitors.

After a few design iterations, we landed on deep, calming blues, warm gray tones and watercolor textures. Combined with a classy serif font and monogram logo, Lori’s brand communicates peaceful sophistication without sacrificing professional gravitas.

Step 4:

Web Development

Similarly to Lori’s copy and content, her brand needed to balance Lori’s personal style and approach with the expectations of her target audience — and also make her stand out from the sea of steely grays and glassy corporate structures offered by her competitors.

Not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. You have a good, methodical process for developing a website. I’ve run my business for 4 years without a website —having this as a cornerstone for my online presence will help me grow my business significantly.

Outcome

Now, Lori’s website introduces visitors to her services and expanded offerings. Her brand conveys her personality and approach while building trust from her ideal client base. Her new website offers a legible, sophisticated digital home for her business and is poised to grow alongside her.
